Our view of usability is simple: the product needs to be usable by its intended audience, be technically feasible for its engineers, and cost-effective for its maker. Usability is about tradeoffs. Tradeoffs in cost, time to market, support costs, and ease of use. Making intelligent tradeoffs requires as much knowledge about the needs and attitudes of the user as it does about your product goals. Poor Human Factors can cause people to react negatively to offerings that don't satisfy their sense of quality, ease of use, or ease of learning.

When it comes to medical and clinical products, making the right calls becomes even more critical. Not only is the product's success on the line, so are people's lives. We offer a variety of services that allow you to make the right tradeoffs for your business, clinicians, and patients.

We can conduct Usability Testing(realistic use scenarios) in our own facilities or at various locations around the US or the world. Contextual Inquiries(clinical and/or patient observation) allow us to understand the needs and opportunities from the ground up by visiting clinicians, observing in the OR, or going to current/potential people's homes. If you have an existing product and are preparing for a revision, an Expert Review is an excellent way for usability experts to collaborate on your existing design in advance of any work. Our services also include using these methods for doing a dry run for upcoming traditional Focus Groups for clinicians or patients.
