Members of our team have contributed to multiple world-changing products and web sites. They then took that expertise into the clinical arena and have helped produce some of the most usable and innovative clinical products on the market. The team includes:

Tony Fernandes - Founder of theUEgroup with 20 years of user interface and usability experience. Previously, Tony founded Netscape's User Experience Group and the Apple/Claris Human Interface Group. Experience in medical areas includes Computer Assisted Surgery, surgical devices, implants, minimally invasive surgery, navigated guidance, patient monitoring, end-user web sites, IFUs, and patient devices.

Shannon Halgren PhD - A usability expert with a Cognitive Psychology background with over 16 years of industry experience. Founder of Sage Research and design and the Apple/Claris' Usability Group. Shannon's medical experience includes pain management configuration software,implant experiences, orthopedic configuration applications, and cochlear implants.

Kathryn Moga - Our lead project manager. Kathryn has a tremendous track record of making sure that both our research and design projects stay on track and that our clients are well informed about what we are doing. Kathryn has worked directly with such clients as Boston Scientific, Advanced Bionics, Smith & Nephew, Zogenix, to name a few.

Jennifer Chaffee - Lead visual and information designer with over 16 years of experience. Founder of MouseWorks Media and visual designer for past Apple Macintosh visual designs. Her medical experience includes designs for Computer Assisted Surgery, patient monitoring, spinal and surgery navigated guidance.

Anna-Karin Söderström - A European-based designer who’s Masters thesis was “Advanced Surgical User Interfaces.” Anna brings her industrial design talent to bear on device form factors, disposables, and onscreen experiences alike. Her medical experience includes Computer Assisted Surgery GUI design, Neuro disposable designs, surgical instrument design, device labeling, and IFUs.

Sarah Garcia - A usability researcher with a background in market research. Sarah brings business and marketing savvy to the research she takes on. She is experienced with both onscreen as well as device usability. Her medical experience includes simulation of clinical environments, onsite clinical research, and the design of injection devices.

Kathy Fernandes - Our finance and operations lead with a Business Management Degree from the University of Massachusetts. Kathy make the our business work.

Julie Kwak PhD (candidate) - A researcher with a background in Cognitive Psychology and usability testing. Julie is also extremely capable of dealing with large and complex designs as well as quantitative statistical analysis.
